Summer Reading Program 2021: Tails to Tales
The Free Public Library is pleased to offer a six week summer reading program this year with the theme of “Tails to Tales.” We will be offering a number of displays and prizes to both children and adults who participate in the program. Beginning June 21st, the program will run through July 30th. Registration is required for participation. Details are below.
Youth Program: The goal of the youth program is to read five picture books/easy readers or 50 pages of a chapter book every week for six weeks. Earn a parrot to be displayed on the library door by reading 5 books or 50 pages. For each additional 5 books or 50 pages, earn a tail feather for your parrot. See how many tail feathers you can collect! Everyone gets their parrot at the end of the program. Participants who complete the 5 week program get an additional gift.
Adult Program: The goal of the adult program is to read as many books as you choose for six weeks. Every book you read earns you a raffle ticket with a chance to win a library tote bag filled with fun things. The more you read, the more chances you get.
Registration: To sign up for either the adult or youth Summer Reading Program, please call the library at 856-547-8686, email the library at email@example.com, or complete the Online SRP Registration Form. You can also register in person during the StoryWalk Event. Remember, registration is required for participation.
Opening Event—StoryWalk: During the week of June 21st, join us in this family fun filled way to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Journey along the sidewalk outside the library and follow the delightful story about a sheep dog named Digby who learns an important lesson. At the end, please pickup information on and enroll in our Summer Reading Program entitled Tails to Tales. Masks are required.
Check-ins: Participants will be given a reading log but they are to stay home. All recording of books/pages read will be done online by completing the online Check-in Form. Participants will have to sign in at least twice in order to complete the program.
