The Library will reopen on Tuesday, May 31st at 11:00 am.
The Free Public Library is pleased to announce that as of April 25th we have completed the switch to our new online catalog and patron account system called Koha.
Koha is a New Zealand Māori word meaning "gift."
This new system promises to provide patrons with an enhanced experience of the Library. Here are some of the new features that will be included:
Here’s what you will need to do: Nothing! All of your account details, including current check-outs, holds, etc., will be uploaded to the new system. Your username and password will remain the same as it is now.
To help patrons become accustomed to the new system and to provide assistance with using the new features, the Library will be holding a number of tutorials in May and in June. The tutorials will be held at the Audubon Senior Center located directly next door to the Library. Below are the dates and times.
If you can’t make it to one of the tutorials, don’t worry! Stop by the Library during regular business hours and one of our staff members will be more than happy to assist you.
We are very excited to unveil this new system to you all. We just know it will be a great addition to the Library, but we ask for your patience as we all get accustomed to the transition.
Lastly, as we all get used to the new system, we are encouraging patrons to bring their Library cards when using the Library. This will ease delays and facilitate service.
Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or concerns.
