Ready to take your gel plate printing further? In this session, we’ll explore two techniques that expand what’s possible on the gel plate: image transfer and collage printing.

You’ll learn several different methods for transferring images onto your prints, plus how to build layered, textured collage designs right on the plate. Walk away with new techniques you can keep using long after class ends — plus a stack of one-of-a-kind prints.

This class is geared toward anyone who’s tried gel plate printing before and wants to build on those skills, but it’s also fully accessible if you’re brand new to the gel plate. All materials provided — no experience necessary.

What’s a gel plate? Gel plate printing is a beginner-friendly form of monoprinting. Using a soft, squishy gel plate, you roll on layers of paint, add textures and stencils, then press paper onto the plate to pull off a one-of-a-kind print. No carving, no press, no mess — just colorful, playful results, and no two prints ever come out the same.
