In addition to the borrowing of books, magazines, DVDs, and other material, the library offers a number of services to library patrons and the public, including copying, faxing, and scanning services as well as access to WIFI and internet-connected computers. Usage of these services may involve fees, which are outlined below.

Fees and Fines

The Free Public Library of Audubon believes that financial restrictions to the access of library resources should be minimized as much as possible. However, this principle is balanced by the need to ensure that library materials remain available and in the best possible condition for all its patrons. Therefore, the Free Public Library has attempted to set its fines at reasonable and affordable levels in an effort to meet both of the above goals.

Further, charging nominal fees allows the library to offer a number of services to the public, including copying, printing, scanning, and faxing. Please see the Fees & Fines chart below for details on the costs of these services.

Any Audubon resident may obtain a free library card by visiting the Free Public Library of Audubon. Identification and verification of address is required. Acceptable identification includes: NJ driver’s license or car registration; a current utility or credit card bill with Audubon address; or local property deed or rental lease. Post Office boxes are not acceptable. A local address in Audubon must be provided. Identification as well as payment of any applicable fees is required to replace a lost or stolen Library card.

A parent or guardian must accompany any child under the age of 18 to the library and show his or her identification and verification of address to obtain a card for the child. Additionally, the parent or guardian must also hold a valid library card for the Free Public Library of Audubon.

The library also offers a number of non-resident and student library card options. Please see the Membership Guide below for details and requirements.
